saving this for future reference.
i have recently joined a gym and until i have my program created, i’ve been looking for different exercises for strength.
I am so doing this. Maybe this week to get me back into everything :)
Did this one, next day I was hurting. Short but effective!

- Flex and Hold: Challenge yourself by setting up triggers for flexing and holding various muscles. For example, every time you turn a corner, flex your abs. Or every time a commercial comes on, flex during the entire commercial. Get creative and find times and muscles to flex and hold throughout each day.
- Teeth Brushing Squats: Instead of passively standing and staring at yourself in the mirror, use the two minutes it takes to brush your teeth to squeeze in some extra exercise. Do as many repetitions of squats as possible.
- Walk on Tip-Toes: Even if it’s just a trip from the couch to the bathroom, walk on your tip-toes to work your calves.
- Standing Around Calf-Rasies: Calf-raises are an easy way to exercise the calf muscles to start adding tone and definitions. Whenever you are passively standing around, squeeze in as many calf-raises as possible. Potential calf-raise opportunities: doing dishes, waiting in line, cooking, brushing teeth, showering, etc.
- Extra Flight of Stairs: Whenever you encounter a flight of stairs, act like you forgot something and go up and down an extra time. This can be done at your home if you have stairs, or anywhere else in public where you travel up and down stairs.
- Eat with Chopsticks: Not only will you look more cultured, but it will force you to eat slower. Take the opportunity to savor and taste each bite. Eating slower gives your brain the chance to catch up with your stomach and catch on when you are full.
- Replace the Recliner: Move that recliner out of the way, and in its place put a stationary bike. You can find bikes that are comfortable with backs on the seats. Instead of casually sitting while watching television, movies, or playing video games – pedal. The more you move, the more you lose. Even if you pedal slowly, you’ll be burning more calories than if you were sitting in your recliner.
- Skip and Race Like a Kid: Instead of walking into the store, skip like a kid, or race. If you aren’t physically able to skip or run, at least park as far away as possible and walk quickly. If you are capable of skipping, try it. Don’t be afraid to look foolish. Skipping and racing friends is fun. That’s why children do it all the time. Losing weight is easier when you connect to your childhood and move more.
ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSES.
I do a lot of these. As for “eat with chopsticks,” I think you’ll look more like a hipster than someone who’s particularly cultured. Also, there are a lot of foods that American fans of Japan eat with chopsticks that are actually supposed to be finger foods in Japan. You could be making quite the faux pas. But it does make you eat slower, especially if you have trouble holding them! Or get a splinter….
I’ve eaten with chopsticks for so long that I’ve learned how to shovel food just as quickly as using a spoon lol
You can do it more than once too!
If you simply change how you think, you’ve won half the battle.

I rarely paint my nails, but this really does work to keep me from eating those stick-your-hand-in-a-bag type foods.
…thank you for reblogging this at this particular moment. I’m going to pain my nails right now.
